Pashupati Aarati is one of the most amazing things one can witness. Pashupati Aarati is a ritual which is performed on the bank of Bagmati River. When you enter the Pashupati Area, you’ll feel a different vibe. One will forget all the negatives, sorrow, tension and enjoy all positives you see around. Aarati in Pashupati is performed by 3 priests conducting custom with oil lamps, lanterns and other religious elements by chanting sacred mantras.

The holy river Bagmati adds great importance to the Aarati. When you are there, you’ll realize life is nothing. On one end, you’ll see people are enjoying, singing, talking, and sharing moments and on the other end, crying people, burning bodies and all. You’ll realize you’ve to be nice to everyone. You never know what’s coming next? You can end up there anytime. Before that, be nice to everyone, do good to everyone. Good things will come back to you.

Have you ever been to Pashupati Bagmati Aarati? If not, then it’s one of the must things to do in Nepal. You’d love it for sure.

At the same time, Bhajan will inspire you, give you energy. Bhajan is something that’s more than a song, a kind of holy song that’s about god and offered to a god. Bhajan, Prayer and Aarati are the most important things in Hindu religion. Everything is related to a god.

During Pashupati aarati, TANDAV dance is performed by devotees. Tandav is a dance form of Lord Shiva which devotees perform during aarati to pay respect to god Shiva.

Pashupatinath aarati  starts from 6pm in the evening and lasts for around 1-2 hour. People from all corners of Kathmandu valley gather there to witness the beauty of Aarati. Not just Nepalese but foreign people also like the best side of Aarati.

Pashupati Bagmati Aarati started in the year 200 but it became regular from the year 2006. Since then, it’s one of the most attracting factors of Pashupatinath Mandir. Everyone can be the part of Pashupati aarati.

During Aarati, people pray for the good and well-being of not just them and their family but the entire world and all living beings. The main goal of Aarati is to wish for the betterment of the whole world and thanking the god for whatever he’s given and done to us.
